  • Bethany Service Excellence Awards

    Nominations for the 2023 Service Excellence Awards are open from February 1, 2024, to February 29, 2024. Review the criteria for each of the eight categories and recognize your most excellent coworkers!

    Key Details:

    • All employees across the organization are eligible for nomination.
    • All nominations will be reviewed by the Director of Service Excellence.
    • Submissions must be completed in full for consideration.
    • All nominees will receive a pin and a card of gratitude from the Executive Leadership Team.
    • Two finalists in each award category will be chosen by the Selection Committee, made up of Executive Leadership and Board Committee members.
    • The finalists from each category will be invited to attend the Board Recognition Dinner and Awards Ceremony.
    • Finalists may be requested to participate in a video interview.

    Founders’ Bursary Awards

    Post-secondary bursaries for children of Bethany employees

    Have you been a Bethany employee for at least one year and have a child under 25 who is a post-secondary or University student studying full-time? The Founders’ Bursary Awards, funded by donors to The Bethany Care Foundation, recognize scholastic excellence, clear career goals, outstanding leadership and community service. Two $1500 bursary awards are available each year. Applications will open on September 1, 2022.

    This program is made possible by the generous contributions of donors to the Bethany Care Foundation.

    All applications are reviewed by a selection committee of Board representatives, senior Bethany leaders, and others as appropriate. Applicants will be advised of the committee’s decision in January 2023. The scholarships and awards are presented at an event to recognize students’ outstanding achievements.

    Bethany Care Society Scholarships & Awards

    Bethany Care Society Scholarships and Awards are now open for individuals who are enrolled in health care aide, nursing or allied health post-secondary studies through one of the listed academic programs between September 2022 and August 2023.

    Bethany Care Society has once again been recognized as one of Alberta’s Top Employers. This marks the 15th consecutive year that we have been awarded this designation that acknowledges Bethany as a truly exceptional place to work.

    Scholarships Program Expanded to Support Next Generation Leaders

    Two Founders’ Bursary Awards and nine new Bethany Scholarships celebrating excellence in scholastic achievement, outstanding leadership and commitment to the community were presented on November 23rd via a virtual ceremony. This expanded Bethany Scholarships & Awards Program was made possible by donations from Burgundy Asset Management and private donors, which were matched by Bethany Care Foundation.

    Bethany Scholarships & Awards Program

    For Registered Nursing Students Pursuing a Career in Continuing Care

    Bethany is significantly increasing our investment in the future of the continuing care sector and our workforce.

    Bethany Care Society has expanded its Scholarships & Awards Program, made possible through the generous contributions of donors to Bethany Care Foundation. Scholarships and awards are available to any individual who is pursing a designation in Registered Nursing (RN) through on of the selected academic programs for September 2021 or January 2022:

    • University of Calgary
    • Athabasca University
    • Red Deer College Practical Nursing program graduates pursing a RN designation
    • Bow Valley college Practical Nursing program graduates pursing a RN designation
    • Norquest College Practical Nursing program graduates pursing a RN designation

    Multiple scholarships will be awarded to individuals pursing a career in Registered Nursing. The scholarships recognize excellence in scholastic achievement, outstanding leadership, and a commitment to the community. Awards are announced in the Fall 2021 at an event to recognize each student’s outstanding achievement.

    Application Deadline is August 31, 2021.

    The Founders’ Bursary Awards were established by the Bethany Care Society Board of Trustees in 1995, as part of the 50th anniversary, to honour the Founders of Bethany Care Society:

    The bursaries are an expression of the Board’s commitment to education and to employees. Bethany Care Foundation provides funding for the bursaries, through the generosity of donors.

    Our Founders’ Bursary Awards will also continue as part of the program, providing two post-secondary scholarships annually in the amount of $1,500 each. Children of Bethany employees pursuing any academic field are eligible to apply for these bursaries, which recognize excellence in scholastic achievement, outstanding leadership and a commitment to the community.

    Recipients will be announced in the Fall 2021.
